Taiwan, Germany Cooperate on Developing Smart Manufacturing

"Green+ Together 2016 Taiwan Sustainability Summit: Future of Manufacturing & Digitalization" was held by TAISE (Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy), Siemens Taiwan, the Germany Institute Taipei, and the German Trade Office Taipei on August 25 to collaborate on developing smart machinery and Industry 4.0, reported the China Post. A statement of seven focal areas were issued at the summit, including (1) supporting Taiwanese vendors to develop automation and digitalization solutions, (2) establishing government regulatory framework, (3) transforming national education systems, (4) building Industry 4.0 test beds, (5) implementing high energy efficiency, (6) helping with the transformation of Taiwan's vertical markets, and (7) combining market and technology strength in the public and private sectors in Taiwan and Germany.
